...you could limit a
cross tab to the Top N or Bottom N rows Just select the cross tab you want to limit. Then, choose
Report | Top N Sort/Group Expert from the pull-down menus, or click the
TopN button in the Supplementary Toolbar (these menu and toolbar options
have changed in version 9). Then choose Top or Bottom N (or additional
percentage options in version 9), and type in the value of N. Your cross
tab will only show the top or bottom number of rows you specified, based
on their row totals! If you want to see the top or bottom N columns, pivot
the cross tab (right click on the cross tab object and choose Pivot Cross
Tab from the pop-up menu), and then re-run the TopN sort/Group Expert to
specify the top or bottom N for the new rows. (From George Peck, Ablaze Group President and
consultant.)
...about the quick and easy way to
size a section There's an
easy way to size a section after you've positioned the fields and
graphics. Make sure you're in the Design Window. Click the Design Tab.
Under the Design Tab right-click the section you want to size. Click 'Fit
Section' and there you go! Crystal Reports will fit the section to your
fields and graphics. This trick is taught in the Intro course, but is
often forgotten! (From Julia Hennelly, Ablaze Group
consultant.)
...how to precisely
size an object To resize an object, hold down the shift-key and use
the cursor keys. This allows more precise movement and sizing (especially
if "Snap To Grid" is turned off), than when using the mouse.
(From
Lauren O'Malley, Ablaze Group consultant.)
